Are you aged between 12-16 and would you like to learn a new skill?
Do you like working with your hands and would like to experiment making with different metal materials including silver. On this four week course you will cover the basics of silversmithing including hand piercing with a small jewellery saw, forming with hammers and mandrels, adding texture with hammers and a Rolling Mill, annealing and soldering, along with filing and polishing. The course includes the cost of materials. In the four sessions you should complete 2-3 pieces to take home.
Session 1 - Introduction - Tools & Textures - Make a Bookmark
Session 2 - Hand Piercing / drilling - Make a Pendant or Keyring
Session 3 - Soldering - Make a Ring
Session 4 - Finishing / Polishing / Wire Work
Places are limited to 4 people per course.
