Are you aged between 14 -19 and would you like to learn a new skill?
Do you like working with your hands and would like to experiment with different metal materials - aluminium, copper and silver. You will cover the basics of silversmithing including hand piercing with a small jewellery saw, forming with hammers and mandrels, adding texture with a Rolling Mill, annealing and soldering, along with filing and polishing. The course includes the cost of materials. In the three sessions you should complete 2-3 pieces to take home.
Session 1 - Introduction - Texture - Aluminium Bangle / Book mark
Session 2 - Hand Piercing / drilling - Copper Leaf Pendant / Key Ring
Session 3 - Learning to Solder - Silver Stacking Rings
Places are limited to 6 people per course.
